That last remains to be seen outdoors when the real golf begins. My Xl has an Epic in it and I actually find the feel of the two clubs similar set up as they are. I’m sure you’re going to like the driver. A toe hit still goes very straight, but the yardage is reduced the most. One thing though – I’d never pay what they are asking for the club. So anyway, onto the testing Sure enough the FT-9 has a face height of 55mm , and a total face area of 46cm2.

Second swing, I realized it was the club.

Bottom line is that the FT-9 gives you a pretty good-sized face area to hit. You know every once in a while you find that club that just seems to fit you like an old glove? Did you get an imix version of the ft-9 or the regular style? This I find promotes striking the inside of the ball.

Thanks for your insight!! GolfWRX – the world’s largest and best online golf community. I tend to have a fairly brisk tempo, and the stiff Fubuki shaft works for my swing as well as not feeling boardy at all. Although, I gotta’ say some of you good reviewers are just evil!!!

Bought this because it was the update to the 5 and thought I might gain a few yards. I grabbed the driver and headed outside.

Callaway FT-9 Drivers

It has been a long time since any Callaway driver has peaked my interest, I am still not certain that I can get over the look of a square driver but the IQ certainly is more appealing than last years FT-i.

I don’t care how it hits! I personally believe these shafts play a tad stiffer than “Made for OEM” shafts. I’m sure you’re going to like the driver. More adjhst is transferred to the ball with the largest face of any Callaway Golf driver, plus increased MOI for shots hit high and low on the face, the Calkaway generates significantly more carry by improving ball flight on miss-hits.

How forgiving is the FT-9 on heel and toe hits? I tried it a year ago, and it didn’t do much for me at that time I have really grooved into it. Bottom line; IMHO it’s an extremely handsome club that doesn’t tip its hand in technology until you crank it.

Take your time, and hit them all, but at the very least, put this one to the test. The Diablo fairways are so easy to hit.

Callaway Rogue Pro 5-pw, Recoil F3. Sorry, there was an error in submitting your review. The better calllaway will love the clean and meaningful look of the driver.

I do agree though that the fitting is very important because I got mine already cut down to size and it feels great. I was also getting pretty tired so I though I had better try this out. I had a big swing change this winter, and this is probably going to be it I wanted to re-prove this to myself. I am sure it has to do with the shaft being nearly 46″. The sound of this club isn’t as bad as some of the new monsters out there and for that I’m glad.

According to the Feb. Some are off center by a good amount. Posted 14 February – Overall with the brief eposure I have had so far, the Ft-iQ, while not idiot-proof, provides a very solid feel, and does kinda’ do what it is supposed to do.

First swing I thought someone was shot behind me.
